Revenue-growth percentages noted by the list seem astronomical in some cases, with Deloitte’s champions reporting between 121 percent and 66,661 percent growth during the target years. Starting with Cemtrex’s middle-of-the-pack performance, Long Island’s three 2016 contenders all placed in the middle to latter part of the list.

Joining Cemtrex this year are Andrea Electronics Corp. and NeuLion Inc., which finished Nos. 243 and 446, respectively.

Bohemia-based Andrea Electronics, a speech-recognition and mobile-recording pioneer with a line of digital-array microphones and noise-reduction software solutions, reported a 298 percent growth rate to crack the Deloitte list for the first time.
