Went to Snakes and Lattes at 489 College Street in Toronto Thursday nite and had a great time learning about the company from the founder Ben-

Some aMazing facts-

1) He said they have around 100 employees including both locations......!

2) He is from France where board games are very popular and around 8 years ago he was in Chicago when he saw a game board store- and realized there were no game board places that he knew about in Toronto, so he came back and started one, and it grew like crazy.

3) They have two locations at present, the one on Bloor Street is roughly 5500 square feet and the College Street location is around 8,000 square feet (280 seat capacity) and was opened about a year ago...

4) They stay open all night sometimes when there is demand from the customers-- (but in Canada they can only serve alcohol until 2am)

5) The income breaks down roughly like this- 25% is from the $5.00 cover charge, 25% is from food sales, 25% is from alcohol sales and 24% is from selling new games to customers....

-----------
Also they have an online component to their business that is selling board games, which generates as much money as the cafes.. now I don't want to quote the figures he said, but it is equal to what they make and very conservative figures have been released so far..............!!

This is a Very exciting growth opportunity is the takeaway --- can you say cash generating franchises????
