Appreciate the link, and the advice is spot on, but the response sounds like a party that profits from internet advertising.

Microsoft spies on you at all times to make sure you're not pirating their software. That's spying.

There's a complete industry on the internet that is all about spying on you, it's called tracking your sessions on line.

It's done without your permission. It's done with crap software in the background that ruins your browsing experience and blocks whole pages of what you're trying to read with 'targeted' ads they 'think' we want. No one asked. No sane person on the planet has ever gave their permission to see 20 pop ups at a time and 1 inch of space to try to read something.

I didn't give any company permission to profile me, sell my profile for cash to another party, so they can flood every page with shit that I've never ever asked for. I've certainly never knowingly gave any software, internet site or ad source my permission to load to my hard drive thousands of stupid, unrelated and many many times, what could be considered pornographic images to my temp internet files for my 'convenience' of browsing. Don't believe me? Clear your files, browse for 10 minutes on a news site, fb or any semi busy known site. Then check what you got. Open the folder in 'thumbnail' and look at the images. You went to Target? Channel 62? Did you really click on the women's underwear, or Viagra ad? Why is it in the temp file then? Then look at how many SCRIPT files are listed with your path name right to the temps.

The original concept was to pre load data so when you reopened the page it would presumably load faster. That has been completely, utterly destroyed and prostituted by the ad industry.
With today's internet that is a totally unneeded and abused storage concept.

It is a backdoor to your computer which a million people still aren't aware of.

I resent such a general benign comment that the ad industry is innocently just interested in 'products'. I resent websites loading call home malware and tracker code bloating my computer, slowing it down and so many that load into boot sequence and not ever talking root kits like the 'innocent' Sony fiasco. I resent secretly loaded code by websites that are supposed to be for advertising, yet load when you start up, run in the background, sometimes in root, check for when you're online, and not only call home, but will load ad's 'targeted' for you on random sites.
One horrible company is called Tabulla.

And it's no one's business what I'm interested in, even if it's simple as socks.

One ad tip: If a stand alone pop up ad comes up and you mouse over the little x in the corner ready to close the ad, if your cursor doesn't change, then the x is part of the ad and you're telling the ad group and website you are a live target. Use ctrl+f4 whenever possible to close a window without activating the pop up script.
