If one considers depreciation of the equipment, not just for bookkeeping purposes but actual physical depreciation of the machines, is this a realistic evaluation.
Most medical or other electronic devices are redesigned, upgraded, and improved every year or two, in part because of changes in the technology, but also as experience and further research prove the need for improvement and a better product.
As best I can tell, the models of Calmare machines sitting in a warehouse somewhere (or are they in Mir's garage), are the same as they were several years ago (maybe someone can identify the model year). with the exception of Bugatti's, Pierce-Arrow's, or other classic devices most other products do not mellow or increase in value over the years. An unused, sealed in plastic Calmare machine is not the same as a 1st edition comic book. It may, in fact, be much more like a bottle of wine. There is a chance when you buy an old vintage that you get a great wine worth the cost, but also there is a chance you get vinegar.
