Hundreds of millions of shares were dumped/ converted, right in the middle of a dividend anouncment and the x-dividend date...looking back now, you cannot tell me or anyone else that they didn't see it as unusual. The sheer volume at the time and plummeting prices should have raised a flag or two. Plus, I'm pretty sure they knew that a note was being converted.
