El Capitan will never be a mine for anything - not for gold, not for platinum, not for silver, and not even for iron. There is mighty little gold or silver, just a few stray platinum molecules that cannot even be measured, and as for iron - well, the deposit is way too small, too far from any infrastructure to handle it, and there are far more lucrative iron deposits elsewhere that would be mined if iron ore prices improve.

Its only usefulness is for a group of sleazy scammers to rip off gullible investors.
