That's ridiculous. As the article correctly says, changing banks is quite difficult. I got furious with one of my banks a few years ago and I moved a huge amount of funds out of one MM account, but I didn't close the account. Plenty of my money is in longer term CDs. I'm not going to cash those in early and pay a penalty. Also, the biggest reason for selecting a bank is convenience, location.

WFC will take a hit, but nothing of that magnitude. I see that WFC stock has actually outperformed the S&P in recent weeks.
