Good news from California!

The polling on Prop 61 is very positive and stands a good chance of passing on Tuesday.
(from wikipedia):

Proposition 61 is a California ballot proposition on the November 8, 2016 ballot that would prohibit the state of California from buying any prescription drug from a drug manufacturer at price over the lowest price paid for the drug by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs. It exempts managed care programs funded through Medi-Cal. According to the fiscal impact statement issued by California Legislative Analyst's Office, "potential for state savings of an unknown amount depending on how the measure’s implementation challenges are addressed and the responses of drug manufacturers regarding the provision and pricing of their drugs."

Essentially this means it will be a real blow for the greedy drug companies that will reverberate all over America.

CA Prop. 61: Despite Record $126M, Pharma Offers No Fix to Public on Drug Pricing; Just Lies, Confusion, Fear Mongering

Despite setting a California state ballot record with a total to date of $126 million given by all the major drug companies to the ‘No on 61’ campaign, not ONE single advertisement, mailer or voter guide produced by Pharma offers even a hint or suggestion of the industry offering any possible alternative solution to the U.S. drug pricing epidemic.

Instead, Pharma spends millions—gouged off the backs of hardworking U.S. taxpayers—to spread lies, misinformation and confusion about what Proposition 61, the California Drug Price Relief Act, will do. The public, and, increasingly, politicians, are fed up and are, “Mad as Hell, and Not Going to Take It Any More!”

$126 million is the largest amount ever spent against a ballot measure in California history. And that amount will probably go up before election day. It's a great tribute to the nurses, and the AARP, and Bernie Sanders will be rallying all over California for the measure this weekend.
