Samrtone 5 min chart is more useful for stock trading which are very liquid, spread 1 penny.
If you trade volume and trade SPY then also yes you can trade option but I agree with you many names you trade are good on 15 min chart.
Since you do not share set up values so for general purpose of TA discussion one can not give opinion, IMOP.
