I'm sorry - I misunderstood. I thought you found Windstream turbines for $600-700!

Wind turbines have been around farms for many years and I am aware of many designs. The problem with these turbines such as the one in the video is that their output varies with wind speed, efficiency, etc. Trying to mix the AC output of a "homemade" wind turbine with some solar panel requires a lot of engineering and especially an "appropriately designed inverter" to provide proper output. Without that, these thing are horribly inefficient. That is one thing that Windstream did very well. Their inverter, solar panels and wind turbine (for varying wind speeds) works extremely well together! That part of the process cannot be minimized.
