What could be the reason for Tepper reducing his stake in WMIH?

* Someone said he sold because he could get in cheaper again. Makes only sense, if he KNOWS a deal is NOT imminent and could take another 6 months to 1 year or longer

* Someone said he could get more shares via conversion of the B-prefs. Makes only sense, if his sale contributed to the decline in PPS since mid-September. Otherwise he could have kept his shares and get the ones from the conversion ADDITIONALLY.

* Did he HAVE TO sell a part of his shares as part of the approaching M&A (reasons:control, ownership...)?
