Regarding MJ,

Just curious ... what problems did you have with Magic Jack?

I have problems with VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) but not with MJ per se.

And I only have problems with VOIP because my internet connection is via synchronous satellite, and that satellite is about 23,500 miles away. That problem is caused by the round-trip propagation of the satellite, about 250-milliseconds. The result in a simplex system (which MJ is) is that people on each end of the call can't talk over each other because that causes a lengthy break in communication.

One of my sons has VOIP phone but its performance cannot be distinguished from normal phone service. That's because his internet service is on fiber, so that makes it much faster.
