Not sure about other cities but Cosi has really good locations in Boston. There are 4 locations in downtown/financial district.. meanwhile there is only 1 Panera Bread in this area. . Also all reviews are really good reviews so brand is very good. . CEO had good experience in this industry. . Really not sure what went wrong that they were not able to generate positive cash flow..
Maybe they wanted to expend too fast and opened too many locations. .not sure..
What we know as of Oct.1st they still operated 76 restaurants and employed 1,200 employees.. generated revenue of $90 mln in 2015... and current stocking horse bid is $10mln.. and 31 potential bidders signed agreements to look futher into COSI.. auction is going to be awesome imo
