Blairsoldman, BP1001 was approved through 6 phase I trials and then 2 additional phase I trials, 7&8 as a combination therapy drug with LDAC. Following the completion of the first phase I the drug was given orphan drug status, by the FDA, which makes it available for distribution only upon completion and FDA approval of phase II. Phase I is a safety phase, phase II and III are efficacy phases. BP1001 is currently only approved for use at phase II test centers and is not available for sale until phase II is complete and approved. Hopefully phase II approval will be given on an accelerated basis by the FDA which would at least mean that something was completed on an accelerated basis!!
