Close indeed but KC still has the one ring (to rule them all).

Although I can technically say I was of this earth when the Lions last won an NFL Championship - 0.5 years old for the '57 championship - they we never close again and certainly no sustained glory years in my lifetime. A couple of individual great players is all they have for the 59 years of my tenure.

Ironically, I read the news today (oh boy) about one of the first Lion's players that I remember from my kid years - Gail Cogdill, a lucky man who made the grade as a three time Pro Bowl receiver. Tough as nails and caught everything thrown his way. Still sixth on Lion's all-time list of receivers.
