As usual when dealing with an OTC Markets penny stock, it is impossible to be absolutely certain where SBFM will head. However, there are some clues that investors should definitely consider.

First off, the surge that has taken the ticker from $0.0025 to $0.03 was kicked off by the announcement that the company has securing all remaining worldwide patents for its Adva-27a compound. That is certainly good news, but is it really good enough to justify the ticker's 1000% jump that ensued in the two weeks that followed?

After all, we're still talking about a company whose financials looked like this at the end of Q3 2015:

cash - $125 thousand
total assets - $136 thousand
total current liabilities - $469 thousand
NO REVENUES
net loss - $202 thousand
And while on the subject of horrifying numbers – one would be remiss not to mention the hideous levels of dilution that the company has put investors through over the course of 2015. Suffice it to say that as of November 10, 2014 there were 69 million shares of SBFM common stock outstanding. As of November 4, 2015 that number had grown all the way up to 138 million.

And if you think that's bad enough, consider the fact that most of those shares have come into existence at a significant discount. Furthermore, it's unlikely that all of SBFM's discounted debt has been converted into shares either.

Add the fact that SBFM paid for securing its overhyped patents with promissory notes, and it should be quite obvious what investors need to watch out for when dealing with this ticker.

With that in mind, let the buyer be ware
