$TBEV The Right Time for Guzzling Down an Energy Drink
Keeping ourselves hydrated by drinking water frequently and replenishing our bodies with as many vitamins and calcium as possible is something which most of us have learnt since our childhood. However, what we don’t know about is the times when it becomes absolutely necessary to hydrate your body with a drink that has a proper amount of everything. Should we consume an energy drink before or after exercises? What about workouts? Is drinking in the middle of a session alright?
Most of us don’t know the answers to these questions. But let’s change that and discover about the right situations and times to toss back an energy drink or two and to prevent our body from spiraling down.
1. Summer Time:
You’d think it’s pretty obvious to keep yourselves hydrated in summertime but that is not always true. As summer arrives, most of us take up physical activities to have a good old time. This results in us sweating continuously and losing electrolytes. What is more dangerous is the fact that we only rely on our thirst to keep ourselves hydrated and don’t even realize that we need sodium, chloride, potassium and water to stay healthy. That is why we should be carrying an energy drink with us the entire day.
2. Before the Workout:
When we workout, our body loses electrolytes through sweating. This means that we have to prepare our body for the onslaught that is to come. For this purpose, we should consume an energy drink ast least 2 hours before the workout or an intense training session.
3. During the Workout:
In case the workout is too intense and you find yourself sweating excessively, take a few sips after every 15 minutes or so to maintain the fluid level in your body.
4. After the Workout:
You need a healthy dose of protein to rebuild your strength after a workout. Unfortunately, most drinks do not contain that much amount of protein. However, a beverage like high-performance sports drink contains the adequate amount of proteins and will ensure that you won’t have to go through the hassle of preparing one yourself.
5. Sports:
Cycling, running, biking, badminton or any other sports you are taking part in; carry your high-performance sports drink with you and make it a point to gulp it down before, during and after the activity. It will not only keep you hydrated but will also prevent you from wearing down and making you perform better.
