Great news, numbers are staggering
I don't think anyone is really surprised by the numbers, but they are actually better than what RF was hinrting at in his comments.

The value with Kakula is much more than these numbers appear at face value. It is an exceptional ore body with nearly ideal characteristics: high grade, spatial continuity, shallow depth and excellent mineralology and metallurgy. They came up with essentially 12B pounds Cu at 3% cutoff and a grade of 5-6.5% in I+I, and much more at lower cutoffs. That is from a single season of about 30 000 meters of drilling. That is absolutely staggering and is why they are already planning a cut box and entrance to gain rapid access for mining. The PEA, PFS and FS will be important to make appropriate business and engineering decisions, but it is clear they are already moving forward to build the mine. The economics will be lower quartile and mine life will be exceptionally long. A century is probably realistic.

The next round of drilling announced is likely to increase the deposit by a factor of 1 or 2, perhaps more if they find richer grades. But otherwise, if the continuity carries through then it will almost certainly double the resource. And with these characteristics, this is now the top copper project on the planet.

You read a lot of hyperbole about ore bodies and their value, but this is one example where the descriptions are actually conservative in many ways. Congratulations to the IVN team and to investors that have seen the prospects for future gains brightened considerably.
