UniPixel Awarded 15.6-inch Consumer Laptop Program for 24th Design Win of 2016

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Oct. 11, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- UniPixel, Inc. (UNXL), a provider of advanced touch solutions to the touchscreen and flexible electronics markets, today announced the Company's 24th design win, and its eighth consumer program win, since the beginning of calendar 2016. The new 15.6-inch device will feature UniPixel's XTouch touchscreen sensors and Diamond Guard hardcoat to maximize touchscreen responsiveness and seamlessly support the Microsoft Pen protocol.

Jeff Hawthorne, president and chief executive officer of UniPixel, said, "We continue to gain confidence that the market is moving in our direction as the demand for highly responsive touchscreens and active stylus capabilities ramps up. The Microsoft Surface Pro product has ignited great interest in the possibilities of active stylus usage. Other original equipment manufacturers ("OEMs") are beginning to react to this trend and are increasingly adding these capabilities to meet the expanding demand of their end-user customers. UniPixel technology enables the OEMs to design products their customers want in an effective and cost efficient manner."
Mr. Hawthorne continued, "Volume production for this program is expected to commence in the second quarter of calendar 2017. We now have a total of 28 programs for which UniPixel touch sensors provide touch and/or stylus writing capabilities in tablets, notebooks and 2-in-1 laptops. We expect that as production on our design wins ramps up in the first half of 2017, we will generate more consistent revenue growth throughout 2017 and into 2018. Our expectation is for solid double-digit revenue growth in 2017 over 2016 as we work our way toward profitability."
