Food for thought:

We see countless stories and claims that rising interest rates are bad. We see other stories about instances where golds price has gone up in a rising interest rate environment. We have so many speculators trying to guess what's right and what's wrong. Has anyone bothered to see what's right in front of their eyes? Precious metals spiked on news of fed leaving interest rates alone but then has spiraled downward. Why? Because speculators thought this would send precious metal prices flying and when they didn't they sold. We have seen a crazy yearof ups and downs but this new bull market started with an interest rate hike. It's the chaos that has propelled prices, and it is the fear of the unknown and the unpredictable. What's more fearful than raising interest rates in a debt fueled world economy that is slowing down and that can't afford higher rates? There's only one way this disaster will end regardless of which path is taken and we as individuals lack reason to accept the outcome of our own creation. Instead we will blame others, instead we will argue, instead we will hate, we will do everything we can not to hold our own actions or inactions accountable.
We would rather watch a mockery of our political system play out on tv as two clowns pretend they can lead this country to a better tomorrow. I'm not buying gold because I think interest rates are going down or that we are heading for more QE. I'm buying because I think they'll raise interest rates and cause panic. I'm buying because I think the markets are rigged. I'm buying because all I see around the world doesn't add up for a strong economy. I see a house of cards built on a foundation that was once strong, a foundation that used to hold the weight of the world until we started hacking it away with sledge hammers thinking it couldn't falter. Instead of properly fixing this foundation, we have exacerbated the problem and put patches on thinking that would hold it together. Maybe it will..but for how long?
