Was greatly relieved to be spared Hurricane Matthew. It did tremendous damage elsewhere, like eastern Cuba.
You just don't know where it'll land so the uncertainty gnaws at you. I was 55 miles from the projected cone and that's nothing given the fickleness of hurricane direction, esp one that reached Category 5
I was here for Andrew- you gain great respect for the tremendous power of nature. I took off for Orlando that time- when I returned all my trees were uprooted, leveled.
I was really touched by the expressions of concern by all my colleagues on the boards- thanks a lot.
Now we watch for our friends living in Northeast Florida and coastal Georgia and the Carolinas.
