Our shares are automatically converted to cash in our accounts when the acquisition closes. The share price we get is computed based on # of shares and amount the company sold for.
So VERY BASIC (and terrible) EXAMPLE:
Say a company buys XCOM for $450M and there are 25 million outstanding shares, we get $18/share we own.
