IMO,

Hurricane Matthew is a material event for ZIVO that mgmt must now inform shareholders of the level of damage to its production scale up efforts at its pilot facility in Vero Beach Florida.

Matthew I believe hit this area overnight as category 3 hurricane and storm surge on the coast expected to be in the 6-12 ft range.

Florida Pilot Production Facility in Full Cultivation Mode

August 24, 2016

An unusually hot summer in Florida created delays in the production scale-up of the Company’s proprietary algal strain as cultivation pond water temperatures exceeded the optimal growth range. Heat exchangers were built and a chiller system was installed by mid-July, and testing resumed in early August. The pilot facility is where the commercial production protocols are developed, forming a significant part of the final product specifications required by the FDA compliance process under regulations promulgated by that agency.

The production protocols become part of the “current Good Manufacturing Practices” or “cGMP” documentation, which is a pharmaceutical manufacturing standard now being applied to dietary supplements and food ingredients. These protocols must be formalized before safety testing can begin, so that the FDA is assured that the same manufacturing practices are observed during commercialization as those used during initial safety testing.

If this was an "indoor" facility, heat wouldn't be an issue as the climate would be controlled and there wouldn't have been need to add heat exchangers and chillers. Would have also cost a lot of money to build, hence the outdoor pond route.

ZIVO Bioscience Scales Up Production at Vero Beach Facility

April 1, 2016

Two 50,000 liter ponds are slated to begin construction at an oceanfront facility in Vero Beach, FL to produce the Company’s proprietary, optimized algal strain for use in FDA compliance studies, customer evaluations, and commercialization. The facility will be supervised by Arizona Center for Algae Technology and Innovation (AzCATI) laboratory manager Dr. Thomas Dempster. Its primary purpose is to develop and refine commercial production protocols necessary to comply with FDA regulations covering dietary supplements and dietary ingredients, as well as to provide algal biomass for testing in animals and humans.

Amazing the "news" that appears on the Zivo website recently from 2016 but nowhere else.

I do not know this with 100% certainty but I believe (as Dahl has not said otherwise) that facility is FIT at Vero Beach
http://research.fit.edu/vbml/
As you can see, the facility is right on the beach and the structures far from secure (but easily replaceable). There are no sand dunes to protect it. Literally right on the water. Now consider storm surge over that sand at 6-12 ft high. FIT suspended its operations due to the hurricane. Area likely has no power, etc .... and may be couple days before people get back in there depending on damage. According to FPL stats right now, 60% of the county where Vero Beach is .... has no power. There where mandatory evacuations for areas near the coast.

So again IMO, Dahl must address it with shareholders as soon as possible, whether good or bad. It is a public event material to the success of the project and company. If the facility is ok and there are few issues and business can resume as usual, great news ! If the opposite and the facility is destroyed and thus the project stopped, delayed ....... INVESTORS NEED TO KNOW. I haven't any doubt the algae strain has been secured at AzCATI and other locations, but having to start the production scale up over again would certainly be a set back ......
