Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Vice Minister of Mining and Heavy Industry Kh.Badamsuren worked Tuesday at the coal mines of West and East Tsankhi at the “Erdenes Tavantolgoi” LLC, the “Ukhaa khudag” coal mine and the concentration plant at the “Energy Resource” LLC and a coal mine of the “Tavantolgoi” company.

......The Ukhaa Khdag mine is part of the Tavan Tolgoi coal deposit(8 billion tons) and is owned by this company... Energy resource llc is also owned by this company. Also..:

After visiting coal mining sites, he exchanged views on urgent problems with the mines’ authorities. He provided them with professional and methodological advice. He also visited the Gashuunsukhait border checkpoint to learn the present condition of the coal transportation.

MMC’s coal transport operations consist of a truck-and-road model, with combined operations via its coal handling facility at Tsagaan Khad (“TKH’) and directly from Ukhaa Khudag to stockpiles at the Ganqimaodu (“GM”) border crossing in China. The Company has its own truck maintenance and repair facilities essential for maintaining the safety and efficiency of its coal transport operations. The transportation is carried by its own fleet of around 300 double-trailer trucks to move products from its two operating mines to TKH for further transshipment for export to GM border port in China.

The 245-km paved road between UHG mine and Gashuun Sukhait (“GS”) border checkpoint in Mongolia serves as MMC’s primary infrastructure for the transport and delivery of coal products. The UHG-GS road was built by MMC in 2011 under the BOT agreement between the Company and the Government of Mongolia (“GoM”) and was transferred to the GoM in 2014.
