Today’s Trump Apocalypse Watch: Now if the Millennials Would Just Get It Together We’d Be Fine

The Trump Apocalypse Watch .. http://www.slate.com/topics/t/trump_apocalypsewatch.html .. is a subjective daily estimate, using a scale of one to four horsemen, of how likely it is that Donald Trump will be elected president, thus triggering an apocalypse in which we all die.
The post-debate Clinton bump that everyone anticipated after Trump’s self-combustion Monday night appears to be materializing. At this point Clinton appears to hold a 3 to 5 point lead .. http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/election-update-even-a-small-post-debate-bounce-could-make-a-big-difference-for-clinton/ . Great! But why isn't that lead bigger, given that she's running against Donald Trump? Well, it's the damn kids. A recent New York Times poll .. http://www.nytimes.com/2016/09/16/us/politics/hillary-clinton-donald-trump-poll.html .. found that, in a four-way race, Clinton has 32 percent support among 18-to-29-year-olds. She did better in a similar Washington Post poll ,, https://www.washingtonpost.com/page/2010-2019/WashingtonPost/2016/09/11/National-Politics/Polling/question_17222.xml?uuid=A3CGmHgcEeaAZMHdyKckuw —45 percent—but still, Barack Obama won 60 percent of that demographic's voters in 2012.

A new Gallup poll released earlier this week .. http://www.gallup.com/poll/195809/voters-prefer-trump-economy-clinton-issues.aspx?g_source=Election%202016&g_medium=lead&g_campaign=tiles .. helpfully illustrates that problem at the issue level. Behold, the one and only issue of the 17 surveyed that the under-35 set prefers Trump to Clinton on: regulating Wall Street.

Under-35s think Donald Trump—who considers his 40-year-history of screwing over customers and business partners to be one the signature reasons you should vote for him—would do the best job regulating Wall Street of any candidate. Granted, Hillary Clinton is probably not going to be running the toughest SEC in the history of the institution, but at least she is not actively being sued for fraud in more than one state .. https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=trump%20university%20fraud%20cases . of the GOP who opposed Dodd-Frank and who less than four years after it's passage in 2010 used a must-pass omnibus spending
bill to gut a part of it which gave regulators the right to regulate the damaging swaps which were a contributing factor toward the wfc.
