My SSD drive may have gone caput ... can some one tell me if this may be the case?

I'm trying to reload Win 7 from my CD but am unable - it gets as far as the "Install Windows" window with
"Where do you want to install Windows?" and
"Windows cannot be installed to Disk 0 Partition 1 [System]" ... same for Partition 2 [MSR (Reserved)] or Partition 3 [Primary]

All the selected disc's say they are "of the GPT partion style" so the "Next" button cannot be selected.

So is my Solid State Drive smoked?


Note - I do have Backups and System Images on an external USB hard drive
but I can't use them unless I can get Windows to run...
