True. We made big money doing Faux finishes. The best faux marble and many imitations of other expensive stone work. Many of the hotels in Vegas Cesar's Palace for one have some of the best imitation faux marble work that most people think is real marble. That level of work could only be achieved with alkyd and oil based paints and topcoats which are now banned. The interior decorating trends of the 90's changed as well and the economy killed that business It took awhile to get rid of the oil based paints but they did get replaced looks like the same thing is happening with isocyanates very similar setup rumblings from the EPA then regulations then the shift to safer paints.
