Hillary Clinton Is Steamrolling Donald Trump At The First Presidential Debate

By Jason Easley on Mon, Sep 26th, 2016 at 10:05 pm

Donald Trump was expected to be the loud aggressive candidate at the first presidential debate, but it is Hillary Clinton who is firmly controlling the first presidential debate.

Donald Trump was expected to be the loud, aggressive candidate at the first presidential debate, but it is Hillary Clinton who is firmly controlling the first presidential debate.

From the economy to jobs to race relations, Hillary Clinton has not only been prepared on the issues, but she has dominated the debate by boxing Donald Trump in and not letting him run wild.

Lester Holt has done a great job of both keeping control of the debate and asking follow-up questions that keep both candidates on topic.

Trump tried to be aggressive with Clinton, but he spent the first twenty minutes behaving like a loud bully, and he appears to have punched himself out.

The media and pundit class thought that Hillary Clinton would too wonkish, but Clinton has delivered the perfect mix of policy, vision, and argument. On the topic of race relations, Trump fell into the trap of defending stop and frisk.

Hillary Clinton has done what no Republican primary candidate was able to do. Clinton has neutered Trump and placed him on the defensive. Trump stormed through the Republican primary by overwhelming his opponents with bluster. Clinton was able to negate Trump’s bluster and dominate the conversation.

Trump’s “zingers” have fallen flat, while Clinton is getting her lines off with adept skill.
