Google pays Apple a lot of money for the default search engine in Safari on iOS and they used to pay a lot of money for the top spot in Firefox (I think that Yahoo or Bing outbid them for the top spot for the last year or two). So clearly Google makes money on desktops and laptops with their search engine.

They will sell you cloud storage if their free, default amount isn't enough.

Other stuff is the tracking - where you are (maps), where you shop, where you visit, etc.

Google has the habit of making nothing on devices and making it up on search and things that improve search (your personal data).
