Anvil - This is a CIVIL Bench Warrant under California rules. Ed can appear with his attorney, explain the reasons, and be released. No cuffs required.

I am serious, once a warrant is issued, you have to go through the booking process and that takes some time to do. You have to wait in a cell until they are ready for you, and the silver bracelets will be placed on him.
