I wonder how the 10-year tax holiday may be affected by how Banro proceeds with other partners. The JV structure would keep Banro's community work in focus for the new mine (Lugushwa). A previous poster indicated that gold in the ground is worth between $300 and $400 per oz. At 3.2 million ozs., that would value the untapped mine at $1-$1.3 billion. Let's just say it's worth only $100/oz., that's still $320 million. So for the cost to build this new mine ($160 million??), a JV partner can be a 50/50 owner of that mine's operation. That means Banro is 50% owner with no initial cash outlay.
