It's similar to pundits and politicians reiterating and persuading everyone how horrible everything is right now, i.e., how poorly the democrats have done in the executive office, yet the unemployment rate has gone dramatically down for the last 8 years, and the stock market is at an all-time high. I'm sure they, their fans and constituents are pretty content with those aspects of their lives. But I'll bet they feel they deserve all the credit for that, and not macroeconomic policy. Talk about intellectually shallow...
