This is not necessarily true as of late, for reference, you can check the last 3 days how the 10 year yield dropped but $GOLD rose. You can also look back to late June when the ten-year yield had a minor crash and gold rallied!

Also next week shall be interesting, the Chinese currency is becoming apart of the SDR and this is likely to weaken the dollar and create more demand for gold, especially for people who don't trust in the Chinese currency or its' government.
