I'm Back...USD Steady As She Goes.

Great trip: Old Orchard Beach in Portland Maine, Kennebunkport, Camden, Bar Harbor, Acadia Nat'l Park (the last national park on my bucket list), route 201 (Old Canada Highway), and Quebec City--which is more French that France.

The French language police in Quebec make the German Gestapo look like Disneyland security. Driving in Canada is a cold water splash to any Anglophone looking for information along the roadside. Thank god they at least haven't done away with international symbols... but I'd bet they would like to.

Famous case of the PQ language police taking down English signs by a English speaking elementary school cautioning drivers to slow down and replace them in French.

Did you know in France a stop sign says STOP, but in Quebec ARRET. The Quebecians go out of there way to use 'flowery' French in every situation.
