APDN´s own addition to Bloombergs article (retrieved from an adnas email today):

One question the scientists ask themselves at Applied DNA: "When premium cotton fibers like American Pima and Egyptian are substituted by lower priced fibers, from whence do the lower priced fibers originate? Could those substitute fibers be lower in cost because they employed children or adult slave labor in their cultivation or harvest? Can the genetic diversity in these substitute fibers be used to determine whether the fibers originate from Uzbekistan or any of the other countries accused of using human trafficking in the cotton harvest?"

Applied DNA believes it will be able to genetically identify Conflict Cottons, and that it has the methods to exclude them ethically sourced supply chains.
