Yes! The act of discouragement is generally what the short motivation is all about. It cannot be that the shorts pay enough when they are over come. Otherwise this type of activity would not continue from company to company, day after day. Actually if shorting was banned you would see a much more honest market in terms of information flow. That is my opinion. In the mean time the short issue prevails, and if it is a power house of money backing the short activity along with some simple minded discouraging articles. The longs end up in a relentless game while waiting for honesty to reappear, along with the company healing.
