That is a very short sighted assessment. 1.) They are in licensing negotiations all the time and there will surely be more if they win this trial 2.) The right to appeal doesn't mean that a company will do so; it's costly and would be cheaper to settle 3.) Their mobile browser has potential to be a revenue producer and just might end up surprising us within a year 4.) I agree 100% that the consulting business has been a big disappointment but don't count them out just yet; the guys leading that side are seasoned IT security professionals 5.) Should they win this trial the price will surely spike and fall as it has before, however, the likelihood of bluecoat settling ahead of appeal increases significantly 6.) Symantec is the prize here, with a settlement or jury award potentially in the hundreds of millions 7.) It's important to keep in mind that the whole IP sector is down and has been for a long time. I read many publications at the beginning of this year that thought the tide would turn for intellectual property companies but it really hasn't come to fruition yet. Finjan is thought to be the top IP litigator in the IT sector and they will still be here next year and the year after that and so on and so on... if they don't have the cash to continue they'll dilute. Trade it accordingly but to say it's a scam (or close to one) is either a flat out lie to shake weak hands or a horribly misinformed opinion.
