That's "somewhat" incorrect depending on the quantum of the settlement.

If the settlement is material it must be disclosed in an 8k (so a large lump sum for instance). If it's a royalty I'm not sure the process as a confidential agreement w a royalty even if sizeable is arguably "hard to predict" so there may be legal ways around having to share it. Most companies for competitive reasons prefer not to share what they paid or received. Only when you've gone through long court cases do you get the big announcements.

That being said, If you recall, the 21 mil from zte was disclosed in an 8k so your comment is wrong if it's a material lump sum. Again, if material, it needs to be disclosed to the market as per SEC regulations.
