OK, I have now officially (I don't know why it's official?) seen all the Oscar nominated movies.
Went to see Whiplash last night and it was very good. I'm not sure why JK Simmons is up for an Oscar, but not the main actor, Miles Teller? I thought he did a great job.
This movie was basically a combination of Drumline and Full Metal Jacket. Funny how people are shocked by how a music instructor deals with his students, but not with how a drill instructor deals with his recruits.
Anyway, pretty intense movie and JK Simmons plays a character impossible to understand. I would say not seeing this movie is a mistake. I would rate it as 3.48 pickles.

So, now that I've seen them all, I'm going to try and rank them. Keep in mind, my mindset at the moment may not match up with my ranking the day after viewing them, but now I've got retrospect. So here goes....

1.The Imitation Game
2.American Sniper
3.Whiplash
4.Boyhood
5.Selma
6.The Grand Budapest Hotel
7.The Theory of Everything
8.Birdman

By all means, if you disagree, tell me why. JMO, of course.

Just my opinion, of course.
