New York Times Runs A Story on Veterans on:

Veterans Back on Patrol, This Time to Protect Marijuana

Fresh off the press, written only 3 days ago. Unfortuneately, no mention of Helix in here. Not even Blue Line, which is curious.

Good Takeaways:

1) In Colorado, a curious marriage has formed between the booming retail cannabis industry — legal in the state since 2014, but not in the eyes of the federal government — and young war veterans, more than 200 of whom have taken jobs protecting marijuana businesses across the state.

2) A pound of marijuana worth $2,000 in Colorado can be sold for $4,000 or $6,000 across state lines. Stores and grow houses are often soft targets in darkened parts of town. And unlike cash, marijuana is untraceable, easily sold on Craigslist or driven to dealers in Chicago and New York.

3) Contrary to the popular narrative, marijuana is a burglar’s typical prize. “They don’t get cash,” the commander said. “That’s usually in the big old safe, and they can’t get into that. Usually, it’s plants and finished product.”

Conclusion: This is a really good fit for Grant Whitus. He was born for this. Helix needs to be the legal mafia of Colorado and navigate this sea like Mayer Lansky. And kick BLPG and CSAX while they are down and show them no mercy. The brains will win that war. Iron Protection looks like a solid iron fist and muscle, which is a great service.

At quick glance, I'm not seeing the sophistication of Helix TCS, such as its integration with Cannabase and forging strategic partnerships. Iron Group has a pretty website and all, a lot of experience, but they don't seem to offer the full package. Heck, we could contract them out for jobs. We just need to control the agency. They can be our agents. Cannabase needs to weed out Weedmaps, which MJ also just recently partnered with. They don't have the market share, but they are the true enemy and need to be "dealt with" asap.

What we need is Mayer Lansky's brain directing the "organization" with Luciano's muscle and savvy. Moats and legal "monopolies" will beat paper, rock, and scissors on Wall Street. We need to exploit the black market and milk them for every threat they pose. And if you can run some covert operations and hit their vaults, that would be great. Just don't put them out of business.
