Ok .. i didn't get through James Fallows' Atlantic article

Why Americans Hate the Media
Why has the media establishment become so unpopular? Perhaps the public has good reason to
think that the media's self-aggrandizement gets in the way of solving the country's real problems
February 1996 Issue
http://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/1996/02/why-americans-hate-the-media/305060/
.. which is linked in xaxnar's DKos .. http://www.dailykos.com/stories/2016/9/5/1567083/-Digby-The-Media-Fails-and-Fails-Big-Time

but hope the gist is that tv news shows/media generally tend to be more about the politics of issues rather than presenting questions and dialogue
designed to helping voters gain a greater understanding of how respective policies would actually affect their everyday lives .. something like that, i hope.

xaxnar also in that fruity grapevine links to Paul Krugman's

Hillary Clinton Gets Gored
SEPT. 5, 2016 .. to the end ..

And here’s a pro tip: the best ways to judge a candidate’s character are to look at what he or she has actually done, and what policies he or she is proposing. Mr. Trump’s record of bilking students, stiffing contractors and more is a good indicator of how he’d act as president; Mrs. Clinton’s speaking style and body language aren’t. George W. Bush’s policy lies gave me a much better handle on who he was than all the up-close-and-personal reporting of 2000, and the contrast between Mr. Trump’s policy incoherence and Mrs. Clinton’s carefulness speaks volumes today.

In other words, focus on the facts. America and the world can’t afford another election tipped by innuendo.

Krugman deals with the impact of issues .. who could validly argue with what he says there .. no one.

Just under the Krugman link xaxnar links to another prime example of asymmetrical press coverage favoring the conservative side, in Josh Marshall's

About As Clear Cut as They Get .. bit ..

The Trump-Bondi case looks like money in exchange for killing an investigation and possible lawsuit against Trump.
It would be like Hillary Clinton making a cash payment to Loretta Lynch or James Comey during the email probe.

.. i understand better now the up-hill battle progressive forces face with so much conservatively inclined media off-side .. thank ya .. :)

Aside: wonder if a Milky Way would boost an energy level.

It was Plato who said, “He, O men, is the wisest, who like Socrates, knows that his wisdom is in truth worth nothing”
