Since I recognize this is a mostly democratic board I am going to change
the subject to Declaration of Independence and our loss of rights.
This is not a democratic or republican matter but our fault for allowing
it to happen. The Declaration of Independence says we have a RIGHT TO
LIFE LIBERTY AND THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS. Now let me define where we
have allowed our government to take the Declaration of Independence
and shred it to pieces. It says we have the RIGHT to Liberty which means
the government or no one can deprive you of your freedom by passing laws
that take your freedom away from you unless you have committed treason,
or harmed someone else in society by your actions. In other words the
drug laws violate our Right to Liberty. They are not supposed to be
allowed to pass drug laws where a person is incarcerated who has done
no harm to anyone. We have idiots running the asylum, you had prohibtion
Saint Valentine day murders. Hence our government said legalize it.
Hence crime goes down and tax revenues go up. Today we have laws against
drugs and we have created cottage industries of drug dealers and crime.
You legalize ALL drugs and crime goes down as the drug dealers can't
compete with Walgreens, CVS, or other legal sellers of drugs. Which
had you rather meet a person trying to pay a fortune for now illegal
drugs or one going to Walgreens? If you changed the drug laws our prisons
would mostly be shut down. Now to enlighten you if we had legal drugs
the money spent on imprisoning non violent crimes could be spent on
improving schools and infrastructure and not cost the tax payers one
more penny.
Now for the Pursuit of Happiness, can you define pursuit of happiness?
If you can't then how can you legislate laws that deny people the RIGHT
to their PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS. You have 2 men getting married does that
mean all men should marry another man? You have some people that buy
alcohol and its legal but if I have to meet someone driving down the
road that has been drinking or someone who has done drugs I will rather
meet the drug user. Neither of these people have committed a crime till
they are impaired or cause a wreck. In other words till a person harms
another person in society what they do is their business and we all ahve
a right to Pursue what makes us happy, and no one should be allowed to
tell us what makes us happy. To make this even simpler the leading
cause of death in this country is obesity, should they have laws that
say you are so tall and can't weigh over so much and if you are stopped
and weigh to much and you have groceries in the car and you have cake
donuts, potatoes, bread to name a few that cause you to gain weight
you should be imprisoned. You see you can weigh to much drive a vehicle
have a stroke or heart attack and kill other people, but that isn't a
crime it is considered a accident. More people die from obesity than
drug over dose, alcohol, combined yet there is no law against obesity.
You see what makes one person happy may make another person sick at
their stomach and they think it is wrong but if what the other person
does harms no one till they do harm someone then who is to decide what
makes any of us happy. If you work for someone else you are selling
your body for a service and expect to be paid. However if a woman is a
prostitute and you solicit or pay her for her services they call that
a crime and can jail both of you. What you have here are 2 consentual
adults and its a crime. A man carries a woman out wines and dines her
and spends tons of money and she goes to bed with him is that
prostitution? What I am saying we the people have allowed our government
to pass laws that violate the Declaration of Independence and our
RIGHT'S. It is time to change this and stand up be you a democrat or
a republican. Freedom will totally be erased and dictatorship will
prevail. If we allow laws that take our freedom away from us when we
have harmed no one in society, and didn't commit treason.
