Competitor Vodafone India is also working towards leading the cellular network coverage improvement of India. The network operator announced 13 billion rupee investment to upgrade its network. The company was also the first telco to commercially roll out the revolutionary network extender. Both Bharti Airtel and Vodafone are working with 5BARz in order to provide a long-term solution for the Indian mobile market’s call drop problems.

An iconic technology executive and investor, Dr. Amelio recently stepped down from the AT&T Board of Directors, a career expanding 18 years, to assume a more hands-on role in executing 5BARz’s accelerated growth strategy as Chairman of the Board, effective February 2013. Throughout a career span of over three decades, Dr. Amelio has led various technology companies, including serving as the CEO and Chairman of Apple Computer, the President, CEO and Chairman of National Semiconductor, and the President of Rockwell Communication Systems, a unit of Rockwell International. Under his leadership, these companies underwent successful transformations that resulted in over $9 billion USD increase in investor value. Dr. Amelio launched his career as a member of the technical staff at Bell Labs’ legendary Murray Hill, NJ campus. He received a Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree, and Ph.D. in physics from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Dr. Amelio has been awarded 16 patents and a 17th is pending. He is the co-author of three books, two of which were business best sellers. Dr. Amelio has established a well-documented legacy of having identified and implemented key strategically important emerging technologies leading to significant increases in shareholder value at the companies he led. His broad base of experience, influence in the technology sector and insightful guidance to developing technology companies is a significant asset to organizations with which he is or has been associated.

gil-Gil Amelio, Director, began his career at AT&T Bell Laboratories, is Senior Partner of Sienna Ventures (a privately-held venture capital firm in Sausalito, California) and has acted in this capacity since 2001. Dr. Amelio was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Jazz Technologies, Inc. (an analog-intensive mixed-signal semiconductor foundry solutions company) from 2005 until 2008 (at which time he was named Chairman Emeritus). Dr. Amelio was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Beneventure Capital, LLC (a venture capital firm) from 1999 to 2005 and was Principal of Aircraft Ventures, LLC (a consulting firm) from 1997 to 2004. Prior to that, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Apple Computer Inc. from 1996 to 1997 and National Semiconductor Corporation from 1991 to 1996. Dr. Amelio is responsible for a number of patents. Dr. Amelio graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology where he earned his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in physics. He was elected a Director of AT&T in 2001 and had previously served as an Advisory Director of AT&T from 1997 to 2001. He served as a Director of Pacific Telesis Group from 1995 until the company was acquired by AT&T (then known as SBC Communications Inc.) in 1997. He is the Chairperson of the Human Resources Committee and a member of the Executive Committee and the Public Policy Committee. He is a Director of InterDigital, Inc. and Galectin Therapeutics, Inc. (formerly known as Pro-Pharmaceuticals, Inc). He previously served as a Director of Jazz Technologies, Inc. (2005-2008).
