There are a # of studies that have shown that certain HIV meds (ART) can prevent an HIV infection. The studies I'm aware of used HIV-free partners of HIV positive patients to test the theory. One study was 98% successful although I can't recall the details. If you think about Ibalizumab as a preventative for HIV, it actually makes sense. Ibalizumab binds to the CD4 receptor on T-Heller cells, preventing HIV from binding there. I'm not sure if pro-140 can do the same thing, but if HIV requires the CCR5 receptor to bind as well, and pro-140 can block that process, maybe it can. The problem is that the market would be small for this as only those who plan one gagging sexually with an HIV + partner would take them.
