JL, unless you think retail shorts like PYRR will run for the exits ahead of R-IT data (no institutional account is shorting shares; if they play the short side, they are doing it via puts IMO), there will not be a short squeeze from the convert guys. Here is why: if a fund is long and short AMRN in the account, they don't have to "trade" these shares...they can just tell their prime broker to "collapse" the long/short position in their account. Since the # of converted shares is much bigger vs the short interest, you won't get a short squeeze. You will see the "true" demand for shares after 9/12 since any interested buyer into R-IT data will probably show up since most of the convert guys would have enough time to "adjust" their positions and own what they want to own going into the interim. JMO
