Correction: "You get high yields in these because of the high risk." AND because they are legally required to pay out 90% of taxable income as dividends each year versus 30-50% most other corps pay out.

Just about any public firm could pay a huge dividend if it did that. That's great for dividends but not so great in other ways. There are damn good reaons Warren Buffett's BRK pays NO DIVIDENDs. But again, Buffett is catering to the most sophisticated of investors.
