I think that would make the dehumidifier works better. The benefits are the noise and heat would be reduced and you really would not be using electricity.
Cloudy days would suck.
My dad had a similar problem and he would just open up the basement door during the summer and plant a fan there to draw the cold air up from the basement.
The house was over 250 years old and the basement was always 10 degrees colder than the rest of the house. It was his version of central air and usually worked in MA.
If it got really hot fans were a must have but rarely.
