You right it has to be the right situation in order for it to be worth using.

I have a nice dehumidifier I use at my job sites and I like the heat as it helps the process.

This method Flo posted though will help in situations that aren't critical for instant success but will help just enough over the long term to make it worth it.

That is how I intend to use it.
