Another good explanation, thanks. Perhaps short "volume" quotes will dry up some day, since they are meaningless.

Stock promoters like hyping the "volume" number to give the false impression of future short covering

"It is easier to fool someone, than to convince them they have been fooled."

For those that don't get it, it means that people need to be more careful, and do good due diligence.
