Tethering would be one of the disadvantages of their approach unless it is battery operated? Contacts are almost exclusively inserted and removed in the bathroom. Do I have to have their case plugged in and sitting on the vanity?

Wouldn't it make more sense to have a pad or clamshell case elsewhere, and use a cheap portable non-tethered transport to and from the bathroom?
